There Are Ways You Can Encourage Your Boyfriend To Propose

So, you have been dating Mr. Wonderful for awhile but he has yet to pop the question.  You don’t know what it is going to take to get him to propose.  You see girlfriends getting engaged and married all around you, but still he doesn’t seem to get that you want that for your relationship, too.  What can you do to steer him in that direction?

When you are out on a date, arrange it so that you go by the mall or the jewelry store.  While you are there, notice if he pays any particular attention to the bridal and wedding jewelry.  Be sure to look at all of the jewelry so that your motive is concealed but comment on a ring you like and ask his opinion.  You will be able to tell a lot by his reaction.

Tell him how much you care about him and that you want to be with him for the long haul.  Sometimes a man doesn’t propose because he doesn’t know exactly where he stands with his girlfriend.  It could be this is holding him back.

You can take the straightforward approach and ask him what he sees in the future of your relationship.  This is a wide opening for him to share his thoughts with you and let you know if he will soon propose or if you are totally different pages.  It is wise to consider the possibility that he may have different plans than you do.  At least you will know where you stand and what the future looks like from his viewpoint.  It may very well be that he wants the same things you do but is moving in a slower motion.

Lastly, while it is okay to encourage your boyfriend to propose, think carefully about how far you go with this.  Any encouragement should be given in a subtle manner.  After all, if he doesn’t propose because he wants to spend his life with you, it is meaningless.
