It’s time to throw out all those excuses and stay on track! Even if you have given up on your goal, you can get back on track. The trick is to lose the excuses, dig deep down in yourself for the dedication and drive and just keep working out.
It is wise to think about ways to combat the common excuses you will be tempted to use to get out of working out ahead of time. That way, when the time comes, you will know how to avoid that excuse and keep on working out consistently.
If you are thinking of skipping working out because you don’t want to go out in the cold or rain, and that is completely understandable, then it is time to come up with a back up plan. Join a gym, stock some exercise dvds to do on yucky days, pull out the old treadmill or use any other creative solution to keep working out. This also works great when you find yourself wanting to use the excuse of boredom.
If you find yourself wanting to skip working out because of pure laziness then you need an accountability partner. When you have someone waiting for you each morning to go for a jog or at the gym then you know you have to be there. This quickly heads off this excuse.
Maybe fatigue is slowing you down and you think you just don’t have it in you to work out. Tell yourself that you have to do this for 5 minutes and if you still want to have an off day, you can. Sometimes, by the time you get your running shoes on and are moving, you want to keep moving.
Whatever the excuse you have for not working out, there is a way around it. Be creative and proactive and you will find yourself slimmer and healthier.
