What Fast Food is Really Doing to Your Kids

It’s so easy to just run through the drive-thru for some chicken nuggets and French fries for the kids. No after dinner dishes to wash, less time spent in the kitchen and more time spent playing with your littlest loves and a little less stress in your already hectic day, right? Wrong. Every single time you opt for fast food for your kids, you are killing them. Well, maybe not killing them but you definitely are not doing them any favors feeding them this junk.

Asthma

According to medical studies recently conducted in New Zealand, kids who eat fast food three times a week or more are nearly twice as likely to develop asthma. This means that every time your kids take a bite of those delicious French fries, they might be one bite closer to an inhaler and a hard time breathing. That’s not really good parenting in any light.

Obesity

You know that everything on a fast food menu is full of fat, grease and a ton of calories. Even the healthy stuff isn’t nearly as healthy as home cooked food of the same variety. When your kids eat fast food they are at a greater risk of becoming overweight or obese, which can lead to a myriad of additional health problems. Lay off the fast food unless you think your kids really want high blood pressure, heart disease or cancer.

Allergies

While eating fast food won’t give your kids allergies, it’s also not protecting them from allergies. Kids who eat the daily recommended allotment of fruits and vegetables are building their immunity to allergies. Eating fast food isn’t helping because it isn’t fruit or veggies. Do yourself and your kids a favor and lay off the fast food and replace it with healthier options at home. You love your kids, so feed them like it’s true.
