Drinking Coffee is Good for Your Overall Health

Coffee makes the best start to each morning. Unfortunately, there are always negative people out there trying to take the amazingness of our coffee away from us. Caffeine is bad for you, coffee stains your teeth, coffee makes you jittery…it’s always something. You know what coffee makes me? Happy. Cup number one is the perfect start to each morning. Cup number two is just pure bliss. Forget the naysayers and focus on these three great reasons coffee is actually great for you.

It’s Good for Cancer

How about that, negative coffee people? According to medical research, coffee drinkers are actually 43 percent less likely than non-coffee drinkers to suffer from liver cancer. I don’t know about you, but I think that reason in and of itself is the perfect excuse to have a cup or two of good coffee each morning.

It Makes You Smarter

Drinking coffee makes you smarter, and not just because I said so. Coffee actually stimulates your brain function. This helps improve your memory, your level of concentration and your ability to focus. Additionally, drinking coffee has also been linked to the prevention of both Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases. If that’s not a good enough reason to break out the K-cups and turn on the Keurig, I don’t know what is.

It Makes You Happy

While depression is a serious illness that should be treated medically, drinking coffee helps to prevent mild depression and negative feelings. The reason for this is that coffee mildly sedates feelings of stress and tension in your body. This leaves you feeling good about yourself and about your life, easing the feelings of minor depression and other forms of unhappiness. While it will not treat depression and should not be used as medication for depression, a cup of coffee is a great way to start your day as it does alleviate minor feelings of depression.
