Serve Your Family White Bean Chili For A Hardy, Happy Mealtime

We can’t deny that when the seasons begin to change and the leaves begin to fall we tend to start wanting soups and stews simmering on the kitchen stove just like we want to wear hoodies and boots again.  White Bean Chili is a warm meal that will leave you feeling full and happy after indulging in this comfort food.

Start by gathering your White Bean Chili Ingredients together.  You will need three cans of Great Northern beans, any brand will do.  I buy the Great Value brand but it is up to you.  You also need one pound of chicken breast or chicken tenderloin and three cans of chicken broth.  Have half a teaspoon of both garlic powder and onion powder ready.  Also measure out a half a teaspoon of salt and set aside with garlic powder and onion powder.  You need one package of fajita seasoning, Great Value brand works well for this as well.

After gathering your ingredients together, cook your chicken until it is white all the way through.  Shred into bite size pieces and set aside.  Drain and rinse the beans in a strainer then add to soup pan.  Add in three cans of chicken broth and chicken, stir until mixed.  Add in the garlic powder, onion powder salt and fajita seasoning and stir until all ingredients are mixed well.

Bring soup to a simmer and simmer for fifteen minutes.

There are certain things our family enjoys along with the White Bean Chili.  We usually serve tortilla chips and salsa or cornbread with it.  For garnishments, you can add shredded cheddar cheese or sour cream.

This meal of White Bean Chili makes enough to serve a family of four for 2 days.  I tend to make it on a Saturday and then I don’t have to cook again that weekend since there is enough for a Sunday meal as well.
