Help When You Need To Get Dinner On The Table In A Hurry

Let’s just face it, life is busy and it is hard to find time to make dinner.  Most families involve a husband and wife that both work plus a variety of extracurricular activities their children are involved in.  Even if the wife can be a stay at home mom, there are still many days she does not have the time to devote to cooking a meal like she would like to have.  But the family still has to eat and everyone gets tired of takeout after awhile.  So, what can you do to get dinner on the table in a hurry?  There are actually a lot of tricks you can use to help you have a home cooked dinner without spending half of the day in the kitchen.

Start at breakfast to have an easy dinner.  What I mean is make a decision early in the day about what you plan to fix for dinner.  A lot of times, dinner is a struggle because we don’t even know what we want to fix.  When you have decided that, you have the biggest part of the struggle over with.  Once you have decided, do as much prep work as you can early in the day.  Make sure that you thaw your meat properly.  It helps if you decide what your vegetables and side dishes that you are going to have with your dinner.  If you can, lay out any boxes of side dishes on the counter.  I even take time to lay out the pans I plan to use and the bowls I will need in preparation for dinner.  Believe it or not, this really makes a difference.  You can even peel potatoes ahead of time, cover them with water and place them in the refrigerator.

With a little forethought, you can have a nice dinner that you don’t spend all your evening hours working on.
