There is something so comforting about homemade chicken soup. It’s so delicious, and so amazing. It’s something that makes you feel so good about yourself, so happy with life; it makes you feel at home. Eating chicken soup is comforting. It’s something that makes you feel as if the entire world is right and there is nothing that can stop you. It reminds you of your childhood. Of your grandparents and your parents; and beautiful winter days inside the house with a fire roaring in the fireplace. There is nothing as beautiful as that picture of perfect innocence wrapped with that warm feeling of love, contentment and security. It’s the comfort of home and the feeling of being cared for; that’s what chicken soup is. It’s not something that can be described; it has to be felt. On the other hand, it also has to be cooked or you’re not going to be enveloped by those beautiful feelings. For that reason, we’ve decided to give you a wonderful chicken soup recipe you can make at home.
What You Need
8 green onions
2 cloves garlic
2 carrots
1 tbsp parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
1 bay leaf (dried)
2 cups cooked chicken
1 tbsp olive oil
2 cups egg noodles (uncooked)
5 cups chicken broth
Place a large pot on the stove and turn the heat on to a medium setting. You will start with your oil, adding your onions, carrots and garlic and stirring frequently while the combination simmers for about 4 minutes. Then add your other ingredients and stir everything together quite well. Let everything boil while covered and then turn the heat down so that the dish is only simmering from this point forward. Let this happen for approximately 10 minutes before you take it off the stove and allow the family to grab their bowls and serve themselves a delicious helping of comforting memory and happiness.
