It never fails to astound me when someone makes the comment, āYou make parenting look so easy? How do you do it all and make it look so good?ā because there is not day when I do it all and itās easy. In fact, most days I donāt do it all and no day is easy. Being a mom is the most wonderful thing thatās ever happened to me. Being a mom who works from home writing fabulous and witty articles for some of the biggest websites in the country, being a good wife, living with OCD that makes it impossible for me to see any sort of mess in my house, and having a number of social commitments makes it impossible for me to do anything right, in my opinion.
However easy I make it look, I assure you that it is not. And if it makes you feel any better, other moms have secrets, too. Here are some parenting secrets other moms have (anonymously) shared about their own lives.
Sometimes I Just Want to Be Left Alone
One mom tells it like it is. Being a mom means you have zero time to yourself. You donāt remember what itās like to be home alone. You donāt remember what itās like to use the restroom by yourself. You donāt know what alone means, and most moms would give their first born (Iām joking) for a few hours alone on a regular basis.
Some Moms Lead Secret Lives
One mom says she judges people left and right for not breastfeeding their babies, but she also kept it a huge secret that she breastfed her daughter until well after she turned two. She didnāt tell her friends because she is just as freaked out by that as she is by not doing it at all.
They Send Their Kids to School Sickā¦But Hate Other Parents Who Do the Same
Oh yes, the kid with the snotty nose? He might be at school because his mom simply didnāt want to keep him home that day. She sends him to school with a dose of medication and hopes for the best. However, when she sees another kid with the same issue, you better believe sheās outright annoyed that a parent would dare send their child to school sick.
