There are way more than 15 reasons wokeness is not necessary and several of them have to do with plain common sense. Unfortunately, that’s in short supply.

Division is a serious byproduct of wokeism

A lot of people don’t want to, or somehow can’t, see this result, but it has happened that many people are divided on various issues. Common sense would state that we have more in common than people believe, but focusing on division appears to be more important.

Accountability goes out the window

Taking responsibility for your own actions and words is common sense that many are taught as children. Unfortunately, that idea has changed greatly in the last several years.

Focusing on everyone else’s problems ignores one’s own personal issues

There’s nothing wrong with focusing on world issues. However, it’s easier to do when your own issues are handled, or managed, first.

Freedom of speech is often attacked

This issue goes either way. Common sense would state that everyone has the right to say what they like, but it also states that they are not immune from the consequences of their words.

Fascism becomes a confused concept

The idea of shouting down the unpopular ideas of others by calling it fascism is utterly confusing. This is largely because that is what fascism really is.

The argument for socialism gets out of control

One has to at least hope that a few of these arguments are for show, and not serious. But the push for socialism in this country is an idea that keeps many people up at night.

Identity politics become an issue

When your identity is more important than your place in the world it can confuse things rather quickly. Establishing your identity is fine, but using it for anything other than identification becomes an issue.

Feelings become more important than facts

When one bases decisions on feelings and not facts it becomes easier to let irrational thoughts dictate their actions. Facts are not always kind, but they are as fair as anything can be.

Ideologies take the place of common sense

Ideologies are not bad, or evil, simply because they foment disagreement between people. But when common sense is abandoned, well, things tend to happen, and they’re not always good.

A woke mob is quite dangerous

All one has to do is watch newscasts from the past decade to see how woke mobs are an issue. Despite preaching tolerance and acceptance, they tend to pounce on anyone who tries to challenge their beliefs.

Cancel culture follows close behind wokeism

Trying to cancel people due to their beliefs and even their words is a negative shift from tolerance and acceptance. Unfortunately, some deny that this happens, even when it’s easy to observe online or in reality.

People will argue based on incomplete facts

It’s important to back up your statements with facts, especially in certain conversations. Some people come woefully unprepared and fall back on feelings instead of facts.

Entitlement

Imagine arguing that your country is unfair and practices racism whenever possible. Then imagine that nothing happens when you give voice to your outrage. Some benefit from their fits and tantrums online.

The fallout is less than acceptable

Like it or not, the woke will eventually turn on each other since it’s been seen that seeing an offense in every corner does force them to hold their own accountable. Being offended by everything does mean that one way or another, you and your supporters eventually become the problem.

Life becomes a bigger mess

People preach wokeness for many reasons. Unfortunately, the end result is usually quite the opposite of what they appear to want.
