The 10 most unrealistic car scenes in movies are hard to forgive since they’re kind of obvious and not possible. But many people overlook this either because they don’t know enough, or they simply like the movie that much.

Speed

The bus scene, that’s all one needs to say. Just to expand on that though, a bus isn’t about to jump a gap in a bridge, especially without damage.

Death Proof

Amazingly it’s not the crash that’s an issue. Out of the several automobile scenes in this movie, it’s the stunt by Zoe Bell that’s the issue, since the model of the car she’s hanging onto didn’t normally have the necessary build for her to pull such a stunt.

Gone in 60 Seconds

Recall when Memphis jumped his favorite car off and over a tow truck. Imagine that landing, and then imagine how much damage would occur once it landed.

The Transporter 2

Scraping anything off the bottom of a car, whether it’s magnetically attached or not, is a stunt that has a large possibility of error. The stunt pulled in this movie to dislodge an explosive is cool, but not real.

Fast and Furious franchise

This franchise has become the gold standard of unrealistic automobile scenes. From landing on a car without injury to the unrealistic gear shifts to the capabilities of certain vehicles. It’s a fictional car movie, plain and simple.

Dukes of Hazzard (remake)

In a certain scene during which the brothers, and two very hot women, are seeking to escape the police, one of the more unrealistic automobile scenes occurs. Upon making a jump onto the highway, the General Lee lands without any real damage. Of course, you can see in the outtakes this wasn’t the case.

Need for Speed

One thing about jumping cars is that gravity has this really strange effect, meaning that becomes a bigger issue the higher one goes. The resulting impact isn’t gentle and would ruin most vehicles.

It’s easy to root for Hutch since even the other characters are doing this. But when he’s leading a group of gangsters away and his car is under fire, it’s hard to imagine how Hutch isn’t hit a few times since the car wasn’t bulletproof and it’s amazing that it was still running.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service

Oh, my, head. Tires don’t squeal on sand, no matter how fast you’re taking off. The faster you go, the better chance you have of sinking.

Seeing a car loaded with munitions is cool, but it’s tough to figure out where they can all go without disrupting the overall function of the vehicle. Cars aren’t magic after all.
