The 20 habits of uneducated people are the types of habits that you should avoid. A show of common sense is often a sign of intelligence.

Arguing

An exchange of ideas often leads to an argument, so thinking that one can get away from an argument entirely is naive. But arguing just for the sake of it is a favorite pastime of many uneducated people.

Interrupting Others

If you need to disrupt the thought of another person then chances are you were never told no and never educated properly on how to share ideas with others. Giving others the chance to speak is a great way to expand your listening abilities.

Not acknowledging the grey area

Like it or not, life is not always as black or white as people want it to be. Uneducated people don’t always see this, as the layers that exist beyond the absolutes are not always readily apparent to some individuals.

Being Loud

You can be stupid at any volume, but being dumb at a loud volume is even worse. Getting loud doesn’t make any argument or point more valid, and makes it sound worse a lot of times.

Using Buzzwords

All of us have likely heard some folks use what are deemed ‘buzzwords’, words that create or trigger emotional responses. The only problem here is that many uneducated people use these like sacred talismans, hoping that such words will make them sound intelligent even if they have no idea what they really mean.

Linguicism

Uneducated people tend to think of others with thick accents as, for lack of a better word, stupid. If you’re looking with a slack jaw and wondering how anyone can make that assumption, you’re not alone. People with accents are often far more intelligent than some people give them credit for.

Believing Headline Stories

It’s right up there with judging a book by its cover. If all a person does is read the headline of an article before believing that they know everything about the subject, they’re not just uneducated, they’re wilfully ignorant.

Social Media Likes

It’s fair to say that getting a lot of likes on a social media post is uplifting. But letting it define your mood and how you view life is, well, kind of dumb.

Pay Raise Issues

If someone tells you they choose not to make more money when possible because it will mean they pay more in taxes, it’s time to change the conversation. Of course, you’ll pay more taxes, but you’ll also take more home at the end of the year.

A Lack of Accountability

No offense to children, but taking little to no accountability for your actions is something a child does. Yes, there are plenty of children who are more mature than adults because they take responsibility for what they do and say, which is kind of saddening since it states that grown adults have an issue with something that many learn in their younger years.

Yes, this debate is still ongoing, and it’s still just as real, it’s not a red herring. The best feeling about this is when uneducated people in this society state that there are Flat Earthers around the globe who hold their beliefs…read that again and you’ll probably laugh if you didn’t already.

Lack of Determination to Learn

Ambition is a strange thing since too much of it can be a detriment, while not enough leaves a person behind as society moves on. Then again, just enough ambition can be dangerous too. But so long as someone has the ambition to learn, they’re on the right track.

They Believe Degrees Equal Intelligence

Do you know what a college degree is, what the visual representation is? It’s a piece of paper that says you did something. It’s not a measure of your intelligence, as uneducated people might believe. If you want to prove your intelligence, then show it in what you do, say, and how you act.

Lack of Critical Thinking

Accepting information at face value is a dangerous proposition since it means you’re not interested in thinking for yourself. If that’s the case, then it’s very easy to be influenced by just about anyone.

Bragging for No Reason

Bragging on anything is kind of ridiculous since it tends to indicate that someone isn’t happy in one way or another. But bragging to another person is also a sign of a massive insecurity that someone has to cover up.

No Basic Education

A lot of people do indeed have an opportunity to become educated, and some people have certain disabilities or disorders that make this less possible. But for those who choose not to learn, it’s tough to feel any sympathy since they made it clear that they don’t want to move forward in life.

Lack of Proper Grammar

This is a tough one to judge anyone by since it’s easy to mispell something on social media or at any given time when trying to jot something down quickly. But when the spelling is deliberately wrong and used to prove how inept one is, it’s easy to become a grammar Nazi or not care at all.

Social Media Influencers

Take a deep breath and realize that a large number of social media influencers are not the authority on whatever it is they ‘influence’. In other words, foodies are not often chefs, pop stars are not always geniuses, and stating the IQ of a popular influencer means nothing if they prove that they’re inept in a number of ways.

Lack of Geographical Knowledge

In some instances, there’s no need to know everything about a country, state, or even town unless you’re up and moving around. But, since many people do need to move occasionally it does help to know something about the place where you live.

Alpha Males

Thinking that the term ‘alpha male’ translates to humanity the same as it does to wolves in nature is, for lack of a better word, stupid. Alpha males do exist, but they’re far different than the stereotypical representations that many uneducated people tend to idolize or otherwise vilify.
