There are at least 15 things to stop buying that’ll save you a bunch of money. It takes a little self-discipline, but you can do it.
Cable Television

Stop buying into a service that gives you hundreds of channels you don’t watch. There are a lot of streaming services out there that provide enough to entertain anyone.
Impulse Purchases

Admit it, you’ve been walking through the store and figured you might need that brightly-colored package, and then something you didn’t know you wanted but have to have. Especially when online, make sure you take time to think about your purchases thoroughly before you pay.
Plastic Baggies

It’s easy to use these and they come in handy. But if you take the time to wash and reuse them it’s better and cheaper than throwing them away so often.
Food or Goods for ‘Later’

It’s not a bad idea to plan ahead. But a few days to a week is as far as this should go. Otherwise, there’s a good chance that you’ll end up wasting a lot of food or forgetting what you have on your shelves.
Cleaning Products

Think about how many cleaning products the average person buys, then think of how long most of them stay there with minimal use. It’s not tough to clean your home, and there are only a few instances when you need something stronger.
Dryer Sheets

Learn what wool dryer balls are and save the cost of dryer sheets. Not only that, but this cuts down on the time it takes to dry your clothing.
Greeting Cards

Think about it this way, you’re paying $3 or more for a card that could say the same thing you can say in person. It’s either that or free ecards that can be sent without the added costs.
Paper Towels and Napkins

Individual rolls don’t always cost that much, but how often do you see these items sold individually? Well, paper towels might be common, but a stash of cloth napkins are cheap and can be reused over and over.
Eating Out

At one point in time this wasn’t a huge expense thanks to $1 menu items. But these days it costs an arm and a leg to eat out, not to mention the tip that many servers want.
Apps & In-App Purchases

Unless your app is helping to make you money, purchasing apps or their in-app purchases are a lot of money for very little in return. Games are one of the most inane expenses ever, not to mention it’s kind of cheating.
New Clothing

Consider the look and condition of the clothes you have. If something is ratty and falling apart then sure, it’s time to get something different, otherwise you need to make do with what you have.
Name-Brand Items

Some generic brands don’t really compare to their name-brand counterparts since quality is still a thing with some companies. But more often than not, you don’t really need a brand name to be secure in what you wear.
Bottled and Canned Water

Thinking about the price of a bottle of water is kind of disturbing these days, especially when a water filter at home and a water bottle are so much easier to obtain. In some areas it’s tough to say this kind of thing, but filters and reusable bottles are still a better option.
Junk Food

It’s understandable, something sweet or salty is a great snack at times since it’s comfort food. But stop buying stuff that’s loaded in empty calories for a week and you’ll notice the change in cost as well as the change in your body.
Home Decor

Some people have to keep up with the trends, don’t they? If you have the money to do so, fine, but if you don’t, it’s not wise to keep up with the Joneses.
