Three of the Main Problems with Obamacare

Obamacare is not something many people are happy with. It’s causing a lot of problems for many Americans and leaving few people feeling optimistic about its future – or more importantly, about their own future. While it was designed to “help” those who lack healthcare, the general consensus of the program is that it is doing more harm than good, negatively affecting the people who already have healthcare in favor of providing inexpensive healthcare to the uninsured. Aside from personal feelings, however, there are three very big problems with this healthcare reform agenda.

Newly Uninsured

The biggest problem with Obamacare is that more people are being dropped from their current health insurance plans thanks to the Obamacare act. These are people who’ve paid for their insurance for years and will no longer receive it. Many make too much to qualify for cheaper plans through Obamacare, but they can’t afford to insure themselves using the government mandated plans that cost so much more. Additionally, there are more people being dropped from their current plans than there are signing up for Obamacare, which is a start to failure for the act.

Young People Aren’t Going for It

One of the biggest problems with Obamacare is the fact that the President is relying on the young to bail him out. He said it himself when he introduced Obamacare, and it’s just not happening. He needs at least 40 percent of enrollees to be young adults, though so far it seems most of the people signing up for Obamacare are old and very sick.

Who is Covered?

Right now, the big problem is the fact that no one is quite sure who is actually insured and who is not. Insurers don’t know who to bill, people aren’t sure if they’re already covered by Obamacare and those who have private insurance aren’t sure whether or not their own plan remains in effect at the beginning of the year or not.
