This weekend, get ready for the end of the world with this upcoming movie release, ‘Wrath of the Titans‘ in theaters March 30th.
The cast includes Liam Neeson (Zeus), Sam Worthington (Perseus), Ralph Fiennes (Hades),
Rosamund Pike (Warrior Queen Andromeda), Toby Kebbell (Agenor), Edgar Ramirez (Ares), and Bill Nighy (Hephaestus).
A sequel to ‘Clash of the Titans’ (a box office smash hit), this film has a story of betrayal between the Gods who side with the Titans who want to destroy humanity and the Gods who swear to protect it. Zeus is betrayed by his own son, Ares, and brother, Hades, who switched to the side of the Titans. The Titans are freed and unleash hell on earth. Perseus, the part human, part god son of Zeus, has to come out from his quiet living, raising his son, Helius, to save the world again. He enlists the aid of Warrior Queen Andromeda to take on the monstrous Titans and save Zeus from the Underworld.
If you liked 2010’s ‘Clash of the Titans’, you’ll love this year’s ‘Wrath of the Titans’. Expect high action scenes, cool fantasy special effects, and an additional perk that ‘Clash of the Titans’ lacked, 3D.
Liam Neeson stated on the red carpet ‘this is terrific times 10’, referring to the upcoming sequel.
If you prefer dramas and romances as opposed to action movies, read Worthington’s take on the film, ‘I think it’s all ages. You know, when you have me and Liam and I have a son in this one and it’s all about a dysfunctional family trying to connect, I think there are themes in that women can relate to as well as just guys, guys as you say.’
The film has an element of feminine eminence. Representing the female beings is Rosamund Pike (Warrior Queen Andromeda) whose life was saved by Perseus in the previous film. Pike stated in an interview with Flicks and Bits, ‘I liked the character of Andromeda because it’s a chance to create a real heroin for young girls. I think boys have so many role models in film, you know? Tough action-hero male role models. There are fewer female characters like that.’
Jonathan Liebesman (Battlefield: Los Angeles) directed this sequel and offers greater special effects, more monsters and overall action.
Released by Warner Bros. This film is Rated PG-13 for violence and action.
