What Men Think of Marriage

Marriage seems more like something women are interested in than men, which I don’t understand considering it’s typically the man who asks a woman to marry him in the first place. However, that’s just the misconception and there doesn’t seem to be anything we can do about it. On that note, we hear plenty of marriage advice from women, but we don’t often hear much from men regarding their take on marriage.

It’s a Big Deal

Men may say they don’t think marriage is a very big deal, but it is. It’s a lifetime commitment to one person. One person to be with, travel with, have kids with, and eat dinner with forever. For the rest of your life.

You Have No Idea What You’re Getting Yourself Into

You really don’t. You may know what’s in store for you now, but you don’t know who your wife will be in five years or ten years. You don’t know who she’ll be once you have kids, or when one of you is suddenly unemployed.

You Must Never Compare Her To Your Mother

I’m sure there are plenty of women dying of shock right now, considering men don’t seem to convey that they know not to do this. I guess they just forget. But they do know they should never make any reference to how much their wife is like, or is not like, their mother in any way, shape, or form.

Always Celebrate Big

Anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, whatever it is; do it big. Men believe that if they’re married, they might as well make the most of it, and that means all celebrations are big, and all occasions are celebrations. Go ahead gentlemen, and do it up. You only live once, so make it a good time with your wife.
