The Best Ways To Entertain Your Children On Snow Days

Snow days can be a parent’s best friend or their worst nightmare.  When the children are entertained you can enjoy a day of blissful family togetherness.  When the children are bored and argumentative you will not see peace and will be wishing that school had never closed even if it meant you had to drive them in a foot of snow.

You can rest assured that there are ways to entertain your children on snow days to make sure that all snow days are good days.  One of the best things that you can do on snow days is to let them enjoy the snow.  Unless it is under twenty degrees, bundle them up and let them enjoy the snow.  While they are outside sleighing you can make hot cocoa for when they come back inside.

If it is too cold or yucky for the children to go outside on snow days then you can do a variety of things to keep them entertained in the house.  Let them make a fort out of blankets; all children love to do that.  You can make cookies with them and if the roads aren’t too bad you can take them to a friend or family member.

Having a movie marathon on snow days is a great way to pass the time.  They don’t have to be new movies; kids love to watch their favorites over and over.  Pop a big bowl of popcorn and settle in with them for a good movie.

Board games are an often forgotten commodity in our day and time.  Kids are so busy playing their video games that they are missing out on the joys of Candyland and Monopoly.  Take these snow days to teach them what they are missing.

If all else fails you can do what I do when my children do this.  Tell them that complaining of boredom means that need work to do and you will happily provide it for them if they cannot occupy themselves.  Best of luck on your snow days.
