Learn to Stop Caring What Others Think

It never fails to amaze me when I encounter someone who doesn’t do something, won’t wear something, won’t go after something, or makes other decisions based on what other people might think of them. Really, who cares? I simply do not understand why people are so concerned with doing what they think will make everyone else happy rather than doing what makes them happy. Since I think everyone should put that feeling to bed immediately, here are some tips to help people stop caring what others think.

Stop Asking for Others Opinions

One of the biggest mistakes people make is asking others for their opinion. If you have a great idea, know you look amazing, or want some positive validation, don’t ask just anyone. Unhealthy, unsuccessful, jealous people have a way of making you feel bad about things in your life simply because it’s a reflection of their own.

Imagine the Worst

It’s easy to stop caring what others think when you imagine the worst. The next time you find yourself worrying about what people think, imagine the worst case scenario. What will happen if other people don’t like what you have to say/wear/do? Will you lose your job? Your home or your family? Once you know the outcome, you will find it easier to stop caring.

Please You

If something you want to do to make yourself happier or more successful is going to make you happy, then do it. If you worry that other people might have a different opinion, stop it. You can’t please everyone, so you might as well please yourself. At the end of the day, you’re the one who has to live with your decisions, not the people who you let dictate them. In reality, they don’t actually care about your decisions as much as you do, anyway.
