Ditch These Things Before You Turn 30

Now that 30 is approaching for both my husband and myself (next year) there are things we talk about and things we think about. Fortunately, we both feel that we’ve done everything we wanted to accomplish (plus a LOT more) at this age so we’re good there. We, like most people, spent a lot of time thinking about the things we want to do, but we never really think about the things we no longer want in our lives when we hit 30. Here are a few examples of things we should all ditch before we turn 30.

Your Futon

It was great when you were in college and before you could afford to furnish your home. Now? Now it’s just a piece of junk that you really need to get rid of. At this age, you need to have a guest bedroom suit or you need to not have guests.

Video Games

I’m happy to say no one in my house plays video games. However, there are plenty of people who do and it’s just childish. It’s time to stop with the video games and move on to a more mature, respectable hobby such as golfing or tennis. Besides, these things only encourage laziness. Get outside and play an actual sport. No one cares if you’re good at them.

Skipping the Doctor

You need to go to the doctor. Growing up you might have thought you were fine, but now that you are at a certain age, it’s time to actually go to the doctor for reasons other than a cold or the flu. You have actual tests that need to be taken and things that need checking to make sure you live to your next big birthday.

Fake Plants

You don’t need fake plants in your house. They look fake, and they look cheap. If you can’t keep a plant alive then don’t have them. If you want flowers in your house, then order yourself a bouquet every week and decorate with those.
