Have you ever worked on a project or participated in an event and been so excited about what you were doing that you lost complete track of time? Did you enjoy every aspect of the event or project or were there specific things that you enjoyed most? Identifying those things that you enjoyed most is a step towards discovering your passion. Once you discover your true passion and work with it, you will enjoy life more and more. Let’s talk about some other ways that you can discover your true passion.
Begin by identifying your unique talents. Everyone is talented at something, but often times that something isn’t what they choose to spend their time on because they don’t believe their talents and passions are worth pursuing.
Perhaps you enjoy singing, ballet dancing or acting. Or maybe the thought of participating in the Olympics excites you. Maybe you loved cooking as a kid with your mother and dreamed of becoming a chef or owning your own restaurant. Allow yourself to dream and make a list of all of the things that excite you.
After you identify your unique talents choose the one that is the best fit for you and figure out how to build on that talent and pursue that dream.
If you want to be an actor or a singer find a drama school that you can attend. Find a coach that will teach you what you need to know. The same goes for the Olympics. Choose the sport that you want to excel in and practice. Join teams and again, find a good coach.
If your passion requires you to go back to school, do some research online and see if any local schools offer the courses you would need. Perhaps there are online courses you can take.
Understand that you are never too young or too old to pursue your true passion, and do your very best to overcome any obstacles that may jump in your way.
