Style Tips to Make a Good Job Interview Impression

Being invited to a formal interview for a new job is an exciting prospect for most everyone. Your future, your career and your happiness might all be part of this one job interview. This could be the job that changes your life for the better, that allows you to realize your full potential. For that reason, it’s imperative you dress the part. But, what does one wear to a job interview? It’s a question many people ask and few people feel comfortable answering.

Go Basic

The truth is that you don’t want to look to trendy in a job interview. Classic, timeless style is always preferable when it comes to meeting with potential new employers, which is why colors such as black, navy and grey are always regarded with excellence. Try to find something that’s a classic style, such as a wrap dress or suit that’s also a classic color. You can add a pop of color with a scarf or handbag if you want to still portray a little bit of your own personal style.

Simple is Good

You might love your jewelry, but overdoing is not for a job interview. Instead of piling on the bangles, watches and rings, stick with something a little simpler. A classic watch, your wedding or engagement rings and a pair of simple diamond stud earrings make you look like you have plenty of style and power. It’s a great impression on job interviewers.

Confidence

The most important thing you will wear to your next job interview is your confidence. When you walk into the room with a smile, your shoulders back and your head held high, you’ll automatically impress your interviewers. Looking nervous, out of sorts, scared or flustered can cause your interviewers to form a negative first impression that might last long after you leave.
