Homemade Aromatherapy Mask: Relax, Enjoy, Save!

Walking into a fragrance or aromatherapy store feels is ambrosial bliss. The sweet smell of cucumber melon in one section, a few steps later vanilla spice and hot apple cider. The choices to make out skin feel better, sharpen our minds, and fill our homes with scented romance are endless. I can stay in a Bath and Body Works for two hours, sniffing my way all the way to the register. The last time I went to a family owned aromatherapy store, I picked out several items.

I glanced at the price of the first two items, but the four other items I placed in my basket without a glance. “What do mean $82.85?!”, I thought to myself and  bowed my head in shopping addict shame. When I left the store and returned to my humble Los Angeles apartment, a few things happened; (1) My face felt like silk and smelled like vanilla (2) I came up with a plan to save money the next time I had an itch for aromatherapy and fragrances. Imagine having all of the benefits of aromatherapy masks and fragrances, and saving almost half of what you would spend in a specialty store. Here is how you can do it!

A trip to your local candle store, grocery store, or health food store may carry the ingredients needed for this lovely facial mask. There are so many facial masks on the market it is hard to decide which one is best for you. Some of them can also be pricey. This easy mask will help tighten your skin and give you a dreamy dose of aromatherapy! It is easy to prepare and feels fabulous. I apply this mask twice a week to relieve stress and to feel like a princess.m Just think of the money you saved while lying down with this amazing mask on your face.

  1. 1 tablespoon rose clay
  2. 1 tablespoon oatmeal, crushed
  3. 1 teaspoon honey
  4. 1 teaspoon almond essential oil
  5. 1 drop lavender essential oil
  6. 1 drop rose essential oil

Mix ingredients with either a pumice wand or a spoon. Apply gently to face, and relax for 30 minutes. Rinse well with warm water, pat dry. The ingredients may seem like they would be the same price (or more) than what you pay in a fragrance store. The beauty of this mask is the ingredients will last longer and they are, indeed cheaper in the long run. For example, you are only using ONE drop of the rose essential oil. An entire bottle of the essential rose oil is about $6. Again, these oils will last for weeks (or months, depending how much you use) and can save you money.

Since I have been using this mask I have saved over $200 in a six month period. This mask makes my skin soft, with a fresh glow. Homemade is always the best option because you know exactly what you’re putting into the mask…pure ingredients! If you look on the ingredients of your current facial masks there are probably words that you can not pron ounce, right? These are ingredients are simple and offer more purity for your skin. Relax. Enjoy. Save.
