Buying Used is Amazing Unless You’re Talking About These Products

don't buy used shoes

Shopping secondhand is a huge trend at the moment. People all over the world are currently shopping for the things that they want and need by buying them used. Whether it’s gently used furniture that’s been refurbished and made fabulous at an antique store or something like a designer handbag that’s being sold at a high-end designer consignment shop; buying used is apparently all the rage right now. While there is not a thing wrong with buying used items and saving some serious cash, some things are better purchased new (like underpants) and not used. What are they? Read on to find out.

Shoes

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but even those gorgeous designer shoes are not worth paying a used price for. The problem is that while they might be your size, the person wearing them before you might not have the same shape foot. They could be stretched in places you don’t want them stretched, or they could simply be worn in all the wrong places.

Car Seats

Never, ever buy a used car seat. They’re not safe; and you absolutely do not want to find out the hard way that a car seat you purchased was already in an accident and is no longer safe. Just don’t; buy them new. It’s the only way to guarantee they are in the condition you expect them to be in and that they are not already trashed.

Swim Suits

I wish I didn’t feel the overwhelming need to tell you not to buy these used, but I see people doing it all the time online. It’s gross; really. Do you want to put your lady parts in the same place another woman has had her lady parts? Hygiene is a real issue here, and I’m not sure why I have to remind you of this.

Medication

I’m fairly certain the only people who purchase medication from other people not at a pharmacy or drug store are addicts, so don’t be one. Someone might tell you that they have left over whatever-it-is-you-need, but you don’t know the correct dosage, if it’s been tampered with; there are too many dangerous things that could go wrong with used medication.

Baby Furniture

Your baby needs to be safe. He or she relies on you to keep him or her safe. Don’t buy used baby furniture. It’s not safe. What if that item was part of a safety recall you know nothing about, and the former owners never took it in for repair or replacement? There are too many variables here.
