How To Relieve Stress Quickly

Some people (me) work better under pressure. Deadlines, things to do, not enough time; it all makes me more productive and harder working. However, it’s not healthy to work in this manner, which is something I had to learn the hard way. There are serious negative health effects that come along with the stress of working under pressure. It can raise your blood pressure, cause you to sleep poorly, and lower your immunity, making you more susceptible to illness. If you feel too stressed or overworked, you need to lower that stress level fast.

Take a Walk

The art of walking and practicing meditation at the same time can significantly calm you down when you start to feel jittery and nervous as a result of your stress. Spend four steps inhaling and four steps exhaling and try to spend at least 10 minutes walking this way to make the biggest impact on your stress levels.

Sit Down and Meditate

Many people find that they are skeptical of meditation, but the truth is that it is a great thing for everyone. Try sitting down for a few minutes. Get comfortable but make sure your back is completely straight. Take a deep breath and hold it for three seconds. Exhale and repeat. Do this for a while and you can actually feel the tension being released from your body. You will feel better, less stressed, and happier in a matter of minutes.

Relieve Tension in Your Muscles

Get on the floor on your hands and knees. Arch your back and look up at the ceiling. Hold this position for a few minutes. From that position, curve your back up and look down at the ground. Think of this position as the one a cat would form when stretching its back or when it’s being scary like a Halloween decoration. This will release the tension in all your muscles and have you feeling relaxed in no time at all.
